Digital assessment for mathematics and the science subjects
In mathematics, more counts than the final answer. In TestWisely you create number questions with a margin and a unit, award partial marks for the working, and let students work in a coordinate system. You can do the same for numeracy, the science subjects and economics.
With the question type Number (Getal), the student enters the correct number, with a margin and a unit. Both comma and point count, and 3/4 counts as 0.75. If you tick Unit required (Eenheid verplicht), the student must add the unit. TestWisely marks the answer itself.

Working with partial marks per step
Tick Ask for working (Uitwerking vragen) and enter a step for each mark, as in a marking scheme. The student writes their working below the number. If the number is correct, they receive all marks. If the number is not correct and AI marking is switched on for your school, the AI marks the working against your steps. The student then scores at most one mark less than the maximum. If AI marking is switched off, you mark the working yourself. When marking, you see the working and adjust the grade yourself.

Graph questions in a coordinate system
With the question type Graph (Grafiek), the student plots points or draws a line. You choose the grid and the margin. Each point counts separately. For a line, the gradient and the y-intercept each count for half. You add a coordinate system with functions to another question via Media → Graph.

Formulas and special characters
With the Formula button you add a fraction, root, power or subscript to your question. Shortcut buttons help you and you see a preview straight away. The student sees the formula neatly formatted. Special characters are switched on automatically for these subjects: in an open question the student gets characters that suit the subject, such as ±, √ and π in mathematics and Ω, μ and λ in physics.

Practising with central exams
In the Question bank (Vragenbank), under Central exams (Centrale examens), you will find questions from past mathematics exams, for vmbo (pre-vocational secondary education) and for mathematics A, B and C. You copy them into your own test. For vmbo-bb and vmbo-kb (the basic and middle-management tracks of vmbo) there is also a separate mathematics exam training. There, students practise with the central exams of the first exam period from 2019 and from 2021 up to and including 2024, with tools such as a calculator, formula sheet and set square.

How it works
1
Create a test
Click + New test (+ Nieuwe toets). The subject of your test determines which question types you see. In mathematics, Number and Graph are included automatically.
2
Add your questions
In the Questions step, choose the question type for each question. Set the margin and the unit, and optionally the steps for the working.
3
Schedule and mark
Click Save and schedule (Opslaan en klaarzetten). TestWisely marks numbers and graphs itself. When marking, you see every piece of working and make adjustments where needed.
