What it is about
Software for education stands or falls in the first week. If it does not work the way a teacher expects, they do not come back. You are there at that moment: you show how it works, you notice where someone hesitates, and you make sure we know about it. That makes your work directly visible in the product.
Why now
We are growing from a few schools to more, and that is exactly the moment when things go wrong if nobody is paying attention. What a teacher runs into in class on Tuesday needs to be on our table on Wednesday. For that we need someone who speaks both languages.
What you will do
- Visit schools: show teachers the way, answer questions, sit in on a real lesson
- Help students when they run into something in the platform, and teachers just as much
- Talk one to one with students and teachers about what went well and what did not, and write up what you hear
- Bring back what you hear, not as a loose note but in a way we can act on
- Create explanations that teachers actually read: short guides, video, a good first week
What you learn, and what you deliver
We set your learning goals together with you and your school or university. Every programme has its own requirements, and we think it matters more that the goals match what you want to learn than that they are already listed on this page. It is one of the first things we discuss in the interview.
End product
You leave with something finished that you can show: work that is live, or research we can build on afterwards. What exactly that will be, we decide together once we know what you want to get good at.
What you work with
The exchange
What we ask of you
- You are enrolled in a degree programme at a university or university of applied sciences, in educational science, pedagogy, applied psychology or teacher training
- You find it easy to approach people and can explain things without being patronising
- You hear what someone does not say, and you dare to ask further
- You can travel to schools within Amsterdam
A plus, not a requirement
- Experience talking one to one with children, for example as a tutor or training coach
- Experience training or coaching adults
- You enjoy writing, and you write clearly
What we offer in return
- A good learning path, with guidance from people who know the craft
- Several hours a week with one of the founders, not a group intake
- Equipment and your own desk if you need them
- Travel expenses covered if you do not have a student public transport pass
- Real barista coffee, made with the best beans in all of Amsterdam
- A reference afterwards, and a chance of a job with us
